» Queen Mary 2

Owned by: Cunard

Cunard's latest and greatest vessel is the largest afloat - at 151,400 tonnes she truly is the largest Ocean Liner on the seas today. Having recently taken over the trans-atlantic route from her smaller sister the QE2 she's well equipped for every eventuality.

The giant Liner is well over 1,000ft long and can take 2,620 passengers and 1,250 crew! If raw power is your thing can you believe she packs 157,000 horsepower and has enough electric power onboard to light the whole of Southampton! All this doesn't come cheap however she's also the most expensive Liner ever built costing in the region of 800million dollars which is about 500million UK Pounds.

Many of her onboard facilities are a first and there are far too many to list here, but to give you an idea she contains the worlds only floating Planetarium, ten restaurants, an academy opened by the Oxford University, a Canyon Ranch Spa, largest Library at sea (8000 hardbacks) and largest Ballroom at sea.

I hope this has whetted your appetite to find out more.
