» Freedom of The Seas

Owned by: Royal Caribbean International

It doesn't take long for a ship to be superceeded these days! Freedom of the Seas is huge! Her impressive stats speak for themselves. She weighs in at 160,000 tonnes and is 237ft high (more than half the height of the London Eye!) She is 184ft wide and longer than 37 double decker buses put end to end (1,112ft!)

Freedom was built in just 3 years and is able to carry over 4000 passengers and 1300 crew, truly a remarkable vessel and on the puts Royal Carribean firmly in the spotlight. She carries the world's highest climbing wall which sits behind the funnel and even has the world's first flowrider which actually lets passengers surf whilst remaining onboard! - quite astounding indeed! The Royal Promenade which lies in the middle of the ship is a 368ft long shopping, dining and entertainment boulevard provides guests with myriad experiences and pretty much all they could need on a cruise.

Some other interesting technical facts are the hull contains 350,000 pieces of steel, she houses 2,200 miles of electrical cable, has 62,430 square feet of window space and is lit with 750,00 light bulbs!
